The Artists Place Gallery - Blue Ribbon Winner!

We have a winner! The Blue Ribbon Winner in The Artist's Place Gallery competition for October is Diane McCavitt with her colorful sunset painting "Ocean Sunset". Our theme this month was "Sunrises and Sunsets". We had a number of lovely entries. This month's competition was judged by the Crooked Creek Park Staff. 3rd Annual Chapin Fall Arts Festival

CCAL members enjoyed a brisk morning that morphed into a beautiful fall day this past Sunday with a wonderful exhibit booth at the 3rd Annual Chapin Fall Arts Festival from 9am-3pm on October 27, 2018. Helping to setup, man the booth and breakdown were: Al Leitch, Barbara Teusink, Anne Hightower-Patterson, Karen Larrabee, Sonya and David Diimmler. Also displaying art in their own booths (and helping to promote the league) were: Adriana Vidal, Alex DiFrancesco, and JJ Casey. Chapin Library Gallery - October 2018

CCAL is happy to announce that Ginger Robinson has a multi-piece display of her amazing photography in the Chapin Library Artist Gallery. The gallery is located in the Chapin Branch of the Lexington County Library and hosts the artwork of one of Crooked Creek Art League's fine artists each month. "Brass Bowl with Fruit" Artist Statement “Brass Bowl with Fruit" Oil on Canvas Image size 12x16 Framed size 21x25 This painting is all about shapes, light, shadows and color. I love setting up various still life in my studio, and arranging the lights so that I can get the most interesting contrast between darks and lights. Congratulations to our Spotlight Artist of the Month for October: Bobbi Sorensen! "Watching for the Winter Birds" About This Piece: Title of Work: “Watching for the Winter Birds” Artist: Roberta Sorensen Size: 24” x 36” Medium: Oil This is a painting of my daughter Terri, first drawn from life more than 40 years ago when she was a child. The drawing was used as a study for a painting this past year. “Terri” had a hand full of birdseed; she would open the sliding window and put seeds out on a deck covered in snow, and watch for the birds to come and – as she said – have lunch.
