Crooked Creek Art League is pleased to offer an all new workshop opportunity with Ryan Fox.


Watercolor Loose and Fast with Ryan Fox. Ryan will demonstrate a graphic approach to watercolor using black paint, then covering it to create an atmospheric look unique to watercolor. Limited palette painting using only three colors.

Workshop Description (from the instructor) Watercolor Loose and Fast Turn your old notions of watercolor upside down. Explore numerous techniques in watercolor painting such as wet onto wet painting, charging color, intentional water blossoms, scraping, spattering, and adding texture to your paintings. The workshop will be a learning experience with demonstrations, one-on-one consultations, and constructive critiques. All levels of students are encouraged to participate. Students are welcome to bring their own photographs or use the instructor’s photographic resources. Students will complete several quarter-sheet (11x15”) paintings during each session. Students can work from their own photographs or use samples provided by the instructor. About the Instructor Ryan Fox is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society as well as 6 state and regional societies- Northeast, Georgia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Missouri, and North Carolina (NEWS, GWS, IWS, PWS, MOWS, WSNC). Ryan has won awards in The American Watercolor Society (AWS), Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors, Missouri Watercolor Society, Georgia Watercolor Society (GWS), and Watercolor Society of North Carolina juried shows. His work has been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine, Art of Watercolour, and Splash 15, 16, 19 & 20 hardcover books published by F+W Media. His instructional DVDs are marketed by Creative Catalyst Productions.

Registration is open to CCAL members for $125.

Registration is open to non-CCAL members for $150.


NOTE: This is planned as an in-person workshop. By registering, you agree to the terms of the COVID Policy. If COVID restrictions demand it, this workshop will be offered on the same dates and times as an online course instead.
