Time to Sign Up and Log In: CCAL Website Accounts

CCAL is proud to be able to provide a wealth of free information to our members and guests. The privacy of personal contact information of our members is important to us however, so we protect select data so that only current members can access it. For years we have all shared a single simple password to access those data. In this day and age of spammers and data scrapers however, it is important to protect ourselves as best we can. For that reason, the board has elected to implement an additional layer of security on our website. Going forward, in order to access Member Only data (e.g., the membership directory) you will need to login to the website to view those data. How do I do that, you say? It’s easy.

The first time you need to access any confidential information on the site you will need to Sign In and create your account. Even if you have previously used the website or subscribed to our Blog posts you will still need to initially create your login account. Once logged in, you will have access to the Membership Directory, the Board Directory and the Board Meeting Minutes. In addition, if you use a consistent email address for your CCAL website interactions, your account (tied to that email address) will also retain and show you any history associated with your account (e.g., purchases made, workshops attended, etc.) The system will allow you to securely store a payment method if you prefer. You will also have the option to edit your data and store a profile photo for yourself and view other member’s profiles.

To get started, click on Log In on the website (see red arrow below).

The first time you access the account system, you will need to select Sign Up to create your new account.

The system will walk you through creating your account. Your request to set up an account will have to be approved by an administrator before it goes live (we want to make sure we only grant access to members) which will generally happen within 24 hours.

Once your account has been created, you will simply need to Log In each time instead. Note that if you’ve forgotten your password you will simply click on Forgot Password? to reset it for yourself.

Depending on the security settings you have set up on your own device, your system may remember your identity and login credentials between visits.

After you are logged in, you will see your name where it previously said Log In. Click on the down arrow to the right of your name to access your account profile and more Member Only options. When you click on Profile you will access the screen that shows your account data and you will be able to update your name, information, profile photo, etc. anytime you need.
