Artist Bio

Bobbi Mann

Bobbi is an award-winning artist, painting primarily in acrylic and watercolor. She began painting again after retiring as an Underwriter from Aetna/CVS. She won first place in the amateur 2D division of Crooked Creek Art League’s annual juried show in 1998 (as Bobbi Shrum) and joined CCAL again in 2023.

Bobbi is one of the 15 artists selected to paint the turtles seen around the Chapin area last summer. Petruvia was on public display on Columbia Avenue in front of Lake Murray Tire and Auto in July and August. It was purchased in the Labor Day silent auction by a private collector.

Largely self-taught, Bobbi is from a family of artists, from multiple generations. She earned a BA in Language Arts from the University of South Carolina. Bobbi has studied and taken various on-line and in person workshops and classes over the years. She enjoys learning new techniques and is grateful for the generous artists who share their time, talent and tips with other artists.

Living on the Wateree Creek in Chapin, Bobbi is inspired by the incredible sights and sounds of nature. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, who are often subjects of her paintings.  She volunteers in 10-12 senior living and rehabilitation facilities each month, singing the music of the resident’s era with ‘Musical Break’.

CCAL Gallery Host:

Sozo Family Fitness

Sozo Family Fitness is proud to host a guest artist display each month in the "Sozo Family Fitness Gallery". In addition to helping Chapin get fit, Kara is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts in Chapin. We are thrilled to be working with Sozo to showcase more art in town.

The gallery is located in the front lobby at Sozo Fitness at 510 Columbia Avenue. It hosts a piece of art by one of Crooked Creek Art League's artists on a monthly rotation.
