Artist Bio

Brenda Peake

Brenda was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and has been drawing for as long as she can remember. After years of running a family-owned bakery, where sugar was her primary medium, and raising a family, she decided to take up painting. Brenda continues to study primarily by self-taught, taking occasional workshops, and experimenting with color and composition. Painting alla prima (wet into wet) is her favorite way to paint; vibrant color and expressive brushwork are the looks she strives for. She loves to paint almost anything but is mainly inspired by the beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry, which she travels to often for inspiration.

CCAL Gallery Host:

Sozo Family Fitness

Sozo Family Fitness is proud to host a guest artist display each month in the "Sozo Family Fitness Gallery". In addition to helping Chapin get fit, Kara is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts in Chapin. We are thrilled to be working with Sozo to showcase more art in town.

The gallery is located in the front lobby at Sozo Fitness at 510 Columbia Avenue. It hosts a piece of art by one of Crooked Creek Art League's artists on a monthly rotation.
