Three opportunities to catch her work this holiday season other than Sozo Fitness:
701 Center for Contemporary Art’s 2025 Biennial along with 11 other contemporary artists. Show runs thru December 21, 2025, it is on the second floor of 701 Whaley Street, Columbia, 29201
Rob Shaw Gallery and Framing, 2123 Park Street, Columbia, several large abstracts and a handful of landscapes. Group Show with George Stone and Rob Shaw. Show runs until January
High Noon, Ballentine, large collection of soft pastel paintings and lake & Lowcountry landscapes
Sonya Diimmler is known for her dramatic use of color in her dreamy contemporary landscapes and bold abstracts. Having started painting in 2015, she wasted no time taking workshops (many with CCAL) and creating increasingly larger bodies of work. Starting 2021 she was featured at Columbia Metropolitan Airport and subsequently, had several shows at Rob Shaw Gallery in West Columbia. In 2024, Sonya was was the featured artist for USC’s School of Music’s edgy Southern Exposure concert and a featured artist at MIRCI’s 52 Windows. Her abstract work has most recently been juried into Greenwood as part of the SC Festival of Flowers, 701cca’s 2025 Biennial Show and Pickens County Juried Show. Her work is part of the Holiday Show at Rob Shaw gallery this winter. Her work regularly adorns the windows of High Noon in Ballentine.

Sozo Family Fitness
Sozo Family Fitness is proud to host a guest artist display each month in the "Sozo Family Fitness Gallery". In addition to helping Chapin get fit, Kara is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts in Chapin. We are thrilled to be working with Sozo to showcase more art in town.
The gallery is located in the front lobby at Sozo Fitness at 510 Columbia Avenue. It hosts a piece of art by one of Crooked Creek Art League's artists on a monthly rotation.
