Artist Bio

Linda Cannup

Linda Drawdy Cannup is a Columbia, SC area native, who specializes in acrylic and watercolor paintings.  She is a self-taught Artist who continues to be inspired and influenced through techniques of respected Artists. 

She utilizes a blend of techniques with saturated colors and highlights with vividly bold, spontaneous brushstrokes to convey dynamic motion while also maintaining the delicate details, resulting in feelings of both meticulously intention and organic movement that embodies the artist's deep connection to the natural world.

She has spent a great deal of time working on commissioned requests and has completed pieces for clients in regions from south Florida to the state of Oregon.  But now mostly enjoys focusing on speaking her own voice and creating her own vision without a structured agenda.

Many of Linda’s works are featured in recent local Art shows, and she participates annually by performing a live paint in the Vista community during the Vista Lights events, as well as during the Artista Vista event.

In her free time, Linda enjoys traveling to coastal areas and lake living – from which she draws inspiration for her paintings.

CCAL Gallery Host:

Sozo Family Fitness

Sozo Family Fitness is proud to host a guest artist display each month in the "Sozo Family Fitness Gallery". In addition to helping Chapin get fit, Kara is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts in Chapin. We are thrilled to be working with Sozo to showcase more art in town.

The gallery is located in the front lobby at Sozo Fitness at 510 Columbia Avenue. It hosts a piece of art by one of Crooked Creek Art League's artists on a monthly rotation.
