About the Artist
Margie Shelburg

My love of art started with drawing and painting as a young child. In my teen years I started doing different types of needle art, but love needlepoint and petite point the best. I have stitched pillows, bell pulls, Christmas stockings, area floor rugs and even a pair of shoes. I also enjoy making jams and jellies.
I have won ribbons at the State Fair for my needle art, jams, jellies and paintings. I have painted with watercolors but prefer to use acrylic. I paint a variety of subjects but have a love for beaches and marsh landscapes.
I grew up in Columbia and have two Golden Retrievers, Locky 3 and Murphy 2. I also enjoy participating in 5k races. I sometimes will take the 3-year-old Golden with me. She loves all the attention and petting everyone gives her.
