We've got a fun one to kick off the new season with not one, but TWO presenters! The dynamic duo of TC Bowers of Palmetto Fine Arts and Jason Williams of Ramco Framing are pairing up to tell us everything we need to know (but were afraid to ask) about all our framing questions and how best to work with a gallery.
Framing Magic and Gallery Representation
There’s nothing like finding the perfect frame to bring a piece of art, family photo, diploma, or treasured keepsake to life. TC and Jason run two great local frame shops and art galleries beloved by all. They are also hosts to great public galleries spaces for our members. Join us as they will share how to determine the best framing solutions for all your artistic creations. They will explain how the right frame can make or break a painting.
Galleries and artists have been always been great partners for getting art into the hands of buyers. TC and Jason will also share insights and advice for artists who are interested in better understanding gallery representation for artists. They will discuss what galleries are looking for in an artist and the best ways for artists to work with a gallery.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
TC Bowers
Palmetto Fine Arts
Born and raised in Little Mountain, Thomas Bowers, better known as "TC," began his career in the custom framing and fine art arena in 1998 when he encouraged a family friend to open a storefront gallery in Chapin, South Carolina. He started his apprenticeship in the gallery by creating store displays and guiding clients through every stage of the custom framing process, from initial design concepts to the finished piece. In March 2004 at age 19, TC purchased the business, renamed it Palmetto Fine Arts, LLC, and relocated the gallery. Since then, he has steadily expanded both the products and services offered, establishing Palmetto Fine Arts as a trusted destination for custom framing, fine art, and specialty display solutions.TC attributes the company's continued success to a commitment to honest, fair, and budget-conscious pricing without compromising quality or craftsmanship. A reminder to our members:
Each month, we hold a new themed contest in the TAP Gallery. All CCAL members are invited to participate. Simply create your best piece according to the theme and bring it to hang on the start date listed below. (Be sure to bring your gallery wall label.) Only original works only are permitted in judged theme contests (no prints please). Exhibits typically change the same night as our monthly member meeting. Be sure to take home your artwork at the end of the exhibit!! A monthly Award Winner will be selected and awarded a ribbon for themed exhibits. Happy creating! In order to give our members more time to paint ahead for the TAP Gallery Exhibits, we will be trying to keep a yearly list of upcoming themes published in advance.
