September 2026 Meeting Video Online
We launched our new season at our September 21, 2026 meeting. We had a fun one to kick off the new season with not one, but TWO presenters! The dynamic duo of TC Bowers of Palmetto Fine Arts and Jason Williams of Ramco Framing paired up to tell us everything we need to know (but were afraid to ask) about all our framing questions and how best to work with a gallery.
There’s nothing like finding the perfect frame to bring a piece of art, family photo, diploma, or treasured keepsake to life. TC and Jason run two great local frame shops and art galleries beloved by all. They are also hosts to great public galleries spaces for our members. They shared a wealth of information as they covered how to determine the best framing solutions for all your artistic creations and explained how the right frame can make or break a painting.
Galleries and artists have always been great partners for getting art into the hands of buyers. TC and Jason also shared insights and advice for artists who are interested in better understanding gallery representation for artists. They discussed what galleries are looking for in an artist and the best ways for artists to work with a gallery.
We had 72 participants: 57 in-person members, 18 members by Zoom and 6 guests in attendance. Thank you to everyone for joining the fun! Door prize winners were: John Timme, Kathy Gardener, Kay Fox and Cathy Schwalm. Note: Attendance at this meeting counts toward Member in Good Standing (MIGS*) for entry into the Annual Juried Show and MIGS for entry into the Winter Still Hopes Juried Show. *MIGS = Members in Good Standing = Members who have attended at least 3 meetings in order to be eligible for the next juried show. A reminder to our members:
Each month, we hold a new themed contest in the TAP Gallery. All CCAL members are invited to participate. Simply create your best piece according to the theme and bring it to hang on the start date listed below. (Be sure to bring your gallery wall label.) Only original works only are permitted in judged theme contests (no prints please).
Exhibits typically change the same night as our monthly member meeting. Be sure to take home your artwork at the end of the exhibit!!
A monthly Award Winner will be selected and awarded a ribbon for themed exhibits. Happy creating! In order to give our members more time to paint ahead for the TAP Gallery Exhibits, we will be trying to keep a yearly list of upcoming themes published in advance.
