Artist Statement

Art, whether drawing or painting, is a means of expressing my vision, thoughts, and feelings in a personal way. Even though I have worked in a variety of media – oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, charcoal, and pencil – I find watercolors to be the most challenging, fulfilling, difficult, and at times least forgiving. Many of my paintings have been of flowers, but I do enjoy painting other subjects from photos that I have taken while vacationing, going on “field trips” with my art buddies, dining with family, or watching my Boykin Spaniel, Lexie, practice for field trials.
