October 2026 Presenter: Marion Mason

We invite you to join us at monthly member meeting on Monday October 19, 2026 for fun and fellowship. This is our regular monthly members meeting. Refreshments begin at 5:30pm.

The Meeting starts at 6pm.

Hope to see you there - members and guests welcome!

This month, our presenter will be Marion Mason. A hands on artist, Marion's "wearable sculptures" (pendants and earrings), and collages are produced in the non-objective art style, pure design. I want the viewer/wearer to appreciate, interpret, "read" my work in any way they desire. He draws his inspiration from the shapes and forms that he sees in both nature and the built environment. But he does not literally use those shapes and forms in my designs. They are simply a starting point for my sculpting.

His primary focus in his 3-D work is dynamic movement and contrast. He sculpts his forms in a manner that leads the viewer's/wearer's eyes all around the piece. He creates contrast by using different colored woods, different sizes and shapes, organic and geometric shapes, positive and negative spaces, and different materials like wood and soapstone. He also makes collages which express the same dynamic movement and contrast that I emphasize in my 3-D work.

The Dynamics of Form

Marion will be bringing several "wearable sculptures" as well as some collages. He will share with us his background, his artistic process and where he plans to go from here. He encourages interactive questions throughout his presentation so bring your thinking cap and help guide what he discusses!
