Danny O'Driscoll

Growing up in the low country of South Carolina, Danny O'Driscoll gained a deep respect for nature. As the years progressed, he combined his love of the outdoors with a growing interest in painting and photography. Danny's career started in Charleston, SC, where he was born. During college, he worked for an advertising agency there. The next and most pivotal step in his career was as an illustrator for the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. As a graphic artist, Danny was to study and paint wildlife of every description. This career spanned 10 years and two zoos: Riverbanks and then the Houston Zoo in Texas. He continues to paint all wildlife from his farm in Batesburg, SC. Danny's list of recognitions is quite impressive and includes awards from the North and South Carolina Wildlife Federations as artist of the year, National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet Print Artist, and featured artist at the Southern Wildlife Festival in Decatur, Alabama. Danny's realistic style of painting has also been recognized by a feature story and cover for the Artist's Magazine. Although Danny is largely SELF-TAUGHT he has also been featured in an instruction book by Northlight Books titled: Wildlife Painting Step-by-Step written by Patrick Seslar. He has been self employed for over 40 years painting his passion---Wildlife.
