Artist's Statement

"This painting was completed during the pandemic and prompted by Anna Kay Singley’s week 14 challenge to my painting group to “Do a painting of Queen Anne’s Lace and another flower". The Queen and the Bachelors was my submission to the group. I started with a drawing of Queen Anne’s Lace on black paper using colored pencils. The Bachelor Buttons were done in acrylics. The Queen Anne’s Lace was also highlighted with acrylic."
