​​​​Artist's Bio:

Debra K. Kelly, a native of South Carolina, is inspired by the culture, wildlife and scenery of the South. She incorporates liberal touches of color and texture, unusual angles and detailed drawing to capture movement and life in her paintings. Pastel remains her medium of choice, but she also uses acrylics and oil and has recently included photography in some of her displays. She is a “Member of Excellence” in the Southeastern Pastel Society, Atlanta, GA and an “Associate Member” of the Pastel Society of America in New York. She is also a member of the Crooked Creek Art League in Chapin. Juried Shows/Exhibitions include the following: Artfields (2014 and 2016), Lake City, SC; Southeastern Pastel Society - Members Juried Exhibition and the International Exhibition (Honorable Mention); South Carolina State Fair(s) (Purchase Award, Third Place, Fine Art Merit Award); Union County Arts Council; Pastel Society of NC Pure Color Juried Show; Prosperity’s Hopping with Art (Third Place); Pickens County Art Museum; Hub City Exhibition in Spartanburg (Fourth Place); Mack Exhibition, McCormick; and the Anderson County Arts Center Juried Show (Richard H. Tuten Purchase Award). She has also participated locally in the Crooked Creek Art Show (Patron Award, Members Choice, First Place, City Art Award and Judy Fay Moyer Award).
