2018 Contest: "Its Your Choice!"

Photo of Artists Palette labeled "It's Your Choice"

This year's annual contest "It's Your Choice" was presented on Monday May 21. It was a great evening at the lovely Chapin Town Hall activity room in combination with our "End of the Year Get Together" We only wish all members of the League could have been in attendance. It was a lovely evening with delicious food, exciting ART and lots of fun mingling among the members, friends and spouses. We had 40 members and 10 guests in attendance.

All 18 paintings from the "It's Your Choice" show are now hanging in the Tap Gallery of the Crooked Creek Rec Center. It is a beautiful display of venues around the State of South Carolina. When in the area during the remainder of May, June and July you must drop in and view the hangings.

Congratulations go to Al Leitch as the First Place winner with his beautiful painting in soft pastel of St. Phillips Church in Charleston, SC. Second Place went to Bebe Way for her amazing oil of 1541 Main Street "Martin House" in Newberry, SC. Congratulations to Ann Sweeney's Third Place win in oil of the majestic State Capitol Dome. The artists peers were the judges and everyone can be very proud as all the paintings were winners.

The Best of Show went to Ann Sweeney for the capitol dome painting named "Heart of Carolina" . Tommy Thompson, our Best of Show winner in the 2018 Crooked Creek Art League Juried Show served as the juror for selecting the Best of Show for "It's Your Choice"

A big "Thank you" to all who participated in making this evening memorable. To those who provided the food - "well done". For the 18 participating artists - you truly outdid yourselves. We would like to thank each of the artists for your participation in the event. The comments from your fellow artists, visitors and families was gratifying. A work well done!!!!! The presentations were also interesting and well done. From Ann Peake "In my book you were all winners."
