Artist Bio

Shirley Long

After the loss of a young husband and young adult son, Shirley’s God given artistic talent began to blossom. While seeking God's favor in her life, her artwork took shape in 2000 after taking an all-inclusive oil painting class.

Having been born and still residing in beautiful SC, her paintings primarily reflect South Carolina's realistic landscapes. She paints in plein air weekly. Her mediums include oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, oil and dry pastels.

Her 26-year art career has benefited from local SC art instructors, practice, curiosity and experimentation. She hopes the viewer will connect emotionally with her paintings.

She has won many awards in artwork competitions. She has also had opportunities to teach many art classes. She thinks the best is yet to come.

The Ramco Framing CCAL Gallery is hosted by Jason Williams, the gallery owner. Floral, landscape, still life and abstract works by local artists illuminate the gallery and pieces are rotated on a regular basis. The gallery is open to the public during Ramco Framing and Design's normal business hours. Find a piece you love. You can have Jason or Ashley frame it for you or select a piece that is already framed and purchase it immediately.

Two artists are included in each exhibit, each with an 8'Hx5'W wall to display a number of pieces of wall hanging artwork. The displays rotate every two months. A 20% commission goes to the gallery for each sale.
