Artist Bio
Dianne Neil

Dianne Neil is a mosaic artist from Chapin, SC, with over 35 years’ experience with stained glass. Dianne is inspired by color, texture and pattern. She loves all of the unique characteristics glass brings to her mosaics, especially the iridescent and reflective qualities glass affords.
Dianne pays great attention to shape, size and flow of each piece of glass she hand cuts. Grout also plays a contributory role in her finished pieces, as she is always trying to please the eye. “One can attempt to choose glass for an art project, but the decision is really made as one is in the middle of the beloved journey.” She takes pride that her skills evolved from her personal trials and tribulations, as she has poured hours of laborious love into each piece she has created.
Dianne wants to create pieces that are intriguing and never bore the eye; that are full of energy, color and substance. Art that can be respected and appreciated for the arduous attention to detail. Art that is a touchable lifetime of beauty!
In 2025 she was awarded three ribbons for her “Virtuoso” mixed media stained glass mosaic: First Premium Fine Art Professional in the 3D Open Media category at the SC State Fair, Honorable Mention at the 23rd Annual South Carolina Palmetto Hands Juried Fine Craft Competition and Exhibition at the North Charleston Arts Fest, as well as the Braddock-Janney Legacy award in the Crooked Creek Juried Art competition. She was also featured in Chapin Magazine's July/August 2025 issue. In 2024 she was awarded the Sozo Fitness Community Business Sponsor’s award in the Crooked Creek Juried Art competition for her “Peanut Butter & Jelly” stained glass mosaic and she was also featured in the February 2024 issue of Chapin Neighbor’s magazine. In 2024, she was juried into the South Carolina Palmetto Hands Juried Fine Craft Competition and Exhibition and the 2023 and 2024 SC State Fair. She was awarded First Place for her mosaic art in the mosaic division in the 2020 Delphi Stained Glass On-Line Art Festival and also was awarded Best in Show for her mosaic art in the 2014 Time For Art charity event, presented by the Young Professionals of Columbia and Lexington, SC.
Dianne’s mosaic art has been displayed at Art on the Square Gallery in Summerville, SC, Palmetto Fine Arts, Blue Lavender Spa, Sozo Fitness and The Chapin Chamber of Commerce in Chapin, SC, as well as High Noon art gallery in Ballentine, SC and Continental American Insurance Group in Columbia, SC.
