Lake Murray Tire & Automotive Gallery - Bryan Beyer - June through August 2026

Crooked Creek Art League is pleased to welcome Lake Murray Tire and Automotive as a new Public Gallery site. The featured artist for June through August 2026 will be Bryan Beyer. Bryan is an active member of Crooked Creek Art League and an award-winning photographer.

Moody Blues - 23 x 27, $250

The longer exposure creates a silky effect of the water sloshing against the shoreline along the Lake Murray Dam with the moon overhead providing the light. This image won first place at the SC State Fair and Best of Show at the Crooked Creek Art League Annual Juried Show.

About the Artist

Bryan Beyer

Bryan Beyer moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 1985. He served as a faculty member and dean at Columbia International University for 36 years until his retirement in 2021.

Bryan credits his wife Yvonne for getting him into photography: “A CIU colleague of mine invited Yvonne to attend Columbia Camera Club, but when she had to back out, I told Yvonne I would attend with her. In a short time, I began to enjoy photography, too, and it was an interest Yvonne and I have shared ever since.”

The Beyers photograph a wide range of outdoor subjects, including flowers, landscapes, and wildlife. Both Bryan and Yvonne would say photography has given them a deeper appreciation for God’s creation with all its variety and intricacy.

Bryan has won several photography awards at the SC State Fair and in the organizations of which he is a member:

·         Columbia Camera Club

·         Carolinas’ Nature Photographers Association, where he serves as editor for Camera in the Wild, the CNPA’s triennial magazine

·         Crooked Creek Art League, where he serves as email coordinator

Bryan and Yvonne joined the Crooked Creek Art League in 2022.

One artist is featured in this unique gallery every 3 months. Art is displayed in a cozy corner seating area with two adjoining walls; one 8’H x 6’W and the other 5’H x 6’W, as well as an opposing wall that measures 8’H x 4’W. The gallery can be viewed during their normal business hours.
