CCAL congratulates Deepmala Roy, one of the featured artists in The Coffee Shelf Gallery for October through December 2025. Deepmala is an award-winning artist and an active member of the League. She frequently volunteers to share her art in one of our public galleries.

About the Artist:


Deepmala Roy

Deepmala Roy is a hyperrealist artist known for vibrant color palettes, intricate textures, and thought-provoking narratives. Based in Lexington, SC, her work explores themes of identity, nature or social issues blending techniques of traditional fine artistry with modern hyperrealism concepts and to create visually striking and emotionally resonant pieces of art.


With a background of art that runs in the family. Deepmala has exhibited in Anderson Art Centre, Lexington Main Library and won accolades at the Koi Art Gallery. Deepmala is an esteemed member of the South Carolina Artists and Cayce Arts Guild along with Crooked Creek Art League. She has done exhibitions at the Artistic Aspirations Gallery and Jodi Jenkins Designs. Deepmala has also done a lot of commissioned art in the Columbia, SC area. Her art invites her patrons and viewers to experience the views and feel the emotions which she felt, when she witnessed in real time, what you are looking at in the painting right now. She calls on her patrons and viewers of her art to explore their imagination and feel inner peace.

The Coffee Shelf Logo

The Coffee Shelf has long been a place to enjoy a wonderful brew and tasty sweets in a comfortable environment. What better place to also enjoy art? We are excited to partner with The Coffee Shelf to showcase the artwork of local artists.

Two artists are featured in this gallery with each display. Each artist has a 8x10 wall to display a dozen or more pieces of wall hanging artwork. The displays rotate every two months. The gallery, which is located in the lobby of The Coffee Shelf at 130 Amicks Ferry Road in Chapin, is open to the public during normal business hours.
