Artist Bio
Lois Thornhill
My name is Lois Thornhill, and I am quite new to South Carolina and reside in Lexington. I am originally from upstate New York. I’ve lived in several places: Miami FL, Columbus OH, Phoenix AZ, Accra Ghana to name a few. In each place I always became involved in the local art communities. At the time that I relocated here from Arizona, I was an active member of the Casa Grande Art Association and Urban Sketchers.
At this time, I am retired from many years of being a business owner. I’ve owned three hair salons and a boutique and also was an instructor at Shear Ego International. Teaching gourmet cooking classes and painting classes for many years were some of my most enjoyable experiences!! About fifteen years ago, Uniquely Designed by Lois, LLC was established. My late husband and I traveled through New York, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and Arizona attending events and shows, featuring my “one of a kind” wearable art creations.
Basically, I am a “self-taught” artist, although I took a few classes during my high school years and sculpting and metal arts at Munson-Williams Proctor Institute. From hair styling to gourmet cooking, jewelry designing and painting. . . all of these talents involve a knowledge of color, balance and design that are pleasing to the eye. I give God all the glory for the gift He has blesses me with.

Chophouse of Chapin

the Deca Dessert Bar
The Chophouse/Deca Gallery is located inside the Chophouse of Chapin on inner wall shared with the Deca Dessert Bar at 301 Columbia Avenue in Chapin (across from the High School). We are excited to partner with the Happy Fork restaurant group to showcase the artwork of local artists.
A collection of art by one to two artists is featured in this gallery in a display that rotates every three months. The gallery is open to the public during normal business hours.
