Every month the Chapin Chamber of Commerce recognizes one of Crooked Creek Art League's artists as the Chamber Spotlight Artist of the Month. Dianne Neil is a contemporary mixed-media and mosaic artist based in Chapin, South Carolina, with over 35 years of rigorous experience working with stained glass. Driven by an obsession with color, texture, and organic patterns, Neil masterfully hand-cuts each fragment of glass with careful attention to shape, scale, and dimensional flow. Her evolutionary studio practice seamlessly fuses traditional stained glass techniques with advanced printmaking methods, frequently adhering hand-pulled acrylic mono prints beneath clear, textured glass to evoke unparalleled depth. Emphasizing grout not just as a structural utility but as a vital design element, she creates tactile, high-energy works designed to challenge and captivate the viewer's eye through meticulous physical labor.

Neil’s highly decorated career includes numerous regional accolades. Her mixed-media mosaic “Lady Lollipop” earned both an Outstanding Merit and a Purchase Award at the 2026 South Carolina Palmetto Hands Juried Fine Craft Exhibition, alongside a Merit Award from the Crooked Creek Art League. Her work, “Virtuoso”, secured the First Premium Fine Art Professional title in 3D Open Media at the 2025 South Carolina State Fair, an Honorable Mention at Palmetto Hands, and the Braddock-Janney Legacy Award. A frequent exhibitor at the SC State Fair and regional showcases, her work has been featured in Chapin Magazine and Chapin Neighbors. Her art has been publicly displayed in the Society of American Mosaic Artists “One Hundred Moments Project” at Corning Museum of Glass in New York and at Pittsburgh Glass Gallery in Pennsylvania, as well as in prominent South Carolina venues, including Art on the Square Gallery, Palmetto Fine Arts, Sozo Family Fitness, Lotus Mind & Body Spa, Chapin Chamber of Commerce and High Noon.
