Artist Bio
At a very young age, Siara was introduced to art through her mother who painted garden scenes throughout her childhood home and Disney murals in her and her sister’s room. She was drawn to cartoons which heavily inspired her art style throughout her teen years. In the beginning of 2020, she attended online art classes to get a degree in animation but instead found a deep love for drawing realistic people and portrait painting. After about two years, she dropped out and decided to jump into the deep end in her art career and became a full-time oil portrait painter.
Portraiture work has always fascinated Siara – intrigued by the stories you can tell through the expressions a person carries, the natural aging that life does to someone and how to convey this through brushwork, as well as the mood that you can convey depending on the color schemes you choose. However, as much as she loves people as her subject matter, she gains inspiration through Richard Schmidt and John Singer Sargent’s works who painted all sorts of subjects with the same passion and enthusiasm as they would their portraiture work. She thrives in learning how to overcome obstacles, and always has a listening ear when someone teaches her something new. As the wonderful artist Kevin MacPherson said “The more you learn, the more you know. The more you know, the more you know you need to learn more.”
Born and raised in South Carolina, now living in the upper Midlands, she finds herself very fortunate to be surrounded by so much natural beauty and surrounded by wonderful and interesting people. With the constant support and help from her loved ones, including her close friends, her new family, and her two high spirited dogs and especially her loving boyfriend, she hopes to continue to grow and thrive in her new career as well as stay inspired and always keep an optimistic mindset throughout all the exciting moments of being a full-time artist.
