About the Artist

Jo Alford

Hi, I am Jo Alford, a local artist living in Little Mountain, SC.

I was born and grew up in the UK, graduating from Art school in Cardiff, Wales, with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art in 1982. In my undergraduate years I painted huge landscapes of the Welsh and Cornish coastline.

I moved to the US in 1985. I am married with two grown children and one grandson.

I retired from Lexington School District One as a Middle School Art teacher. Now I concentrate on my own work in my studio, reuniting with my passion for landscapes, especially local landscapes and those in Wales. I also paint and try to capture the sometimes comical personalities of local farm animals.

CCAL Gallery Host:

The gallery is located in the lobby of Blue Lavender Spa and Medical Aesthetics at 1400 Chapin Road in Chapin. It hosts a rotating display with a new piece from a Crooked Creek Art League artist featured each month.
