- The presentation will first focus on an overview of some of the features of smartphones, specifically the two most popular smartphones, the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy.

- Then the power of third party camera apps will address how new camera features can be added to your smartphone to allow you to utilize tools that newer models have without having to buy a new smartphone. You can also use these camera apps to give you tools that you never imagined.

-Brief discussion on the importance of composition and lighting techniques to create more pleasing images.

-Then editing your photos using the tools the smartphones provide as well as third party apps that are so powerful you don’t need to use Photoshop or Lightroom will be discussed.

Erdal CabaI retired in April 2017 after 40 years in nuclear power. I immediately put a majority of my time into photography which has always been a passion of mine. I became a member of TAG, Columbia Camera Club, Carolina Nature Photographers Association and most recently CCAL. In December 2017, I was accepted into the Village Artists Gallery in Sandhills where my work is still on display. The gallery has a classroom in back which I wanted to take advantage of. I saw a big hole in the knowledge of the iPhone camera features and applications, editing and basic photography principles. I noticed that even professional photographers struggle with this using their smartphones.
