JJ Casey

In May of 2025, Crooked Creek Art League lost a well-known longtime members: Joyce Miller Casey, known by all as JJ. A member since 1999, JJ was a lively and cheerful presence in most of the league's activities. She was known for her passion for the arts and about painting the world in bright colors. Inspired by nature, she served as an Artist-in-Residence at SC State Parks and worked in Yellowstone, Glacier Bay National Parks, and YMCA of the Rockies. She developed her own vibrant style of impressionism. She received many accolades over the years for her work, which reflected the energy, warmth, and color she brought to life itself. She was described as 'the ultimate artistic firecracker', with vibrant colors of burnt orange, sunflower yellow and sparkling gold, lingering fades with crackling white stars ~ elegantly streaming across the hearts of those who knew and loved her dearly.

We invite you to help us honor our past members. Donate now to the Legacy of Art Memorial Fund to help sponsor an award in their honor.
