Mixing Media: Unlock New Creative Possibilities Across Multiple Art Forms
Have you ever looked at a painting, print, or artist book and wondered how artists seamlessly combine techniques from different mediums? Maybe you've been curious about experimenting with collage, image transfers, or stitching—but hesitated because you didn't want to risk ruining a piece in progress.
This hands-on workshop is designed to help you expand your creative toolkit. We'll explore a variety of crossover techniques that can add depth, texture, and unexpected visual interest to your work, regardless of your primary medium. Special focus will be given to collage, photo transfers, and sewing as a form of line and mark-making.
You will be able to put these techniques into practice while creating two unique handmade books: a beautiful folded concertina book with pamphlet stitching and a tunnel book that introduces dimension and narrative through layered imagery. You'll leave with new skills,…
