Artist's Statement

After joining the Crooked Creek Art League, we walked the trail at Crooked Creek Park often. Usually we would come early to our meetings or stay late after a function at the park with the league. Another walker told Brian that he would see a fox if he went off the trail a little ways. Needless to say, he saw the fox which led to numerous trips to check him out.

About the Artwork

"Crooked Creek Fox" is a 4 foot tall artistic trail marker with a sailboat on top. The metal form was created by Steven Reed and Shelly Fugua. The artistry on the marker was done by Kay and Brian Fox.

Installed September 2021

About the Artist

We are a husband and wife wildlife photography team. Brian became serious about photography when he served as a forester with the Peace Corps in Niger. Kay has been learning photography from Brian after her retirement as a teacher for 38 years. We love to photograph birds, frogs, butterflies, other animals, flowers and, of course, foxes.
