Congratulations to Kimberly Case who is proud to announce her new show at Rob Shaw Gallery. This Gallery exhibit will be on display throughout September.
From the Rob Shaw Gallery:
“New at Rob Shaw Gallery and Framing: a two-artist exhibition of figural works by Kim Oakley Case and Will South.
Kim Oakley Case is a visual artist focusing on fine art portrait photography. Hallmarks of her work are richness and whimsy. Incorporating sometimes fantastical themes, wardrobe and props, her photographs are often first mistaken for oil paintings, due to their tones and aura. Her award winning work spans over 30years. Her current series of work was created during the 2020 lockdown, these images outline a real-time look at the pandemic through the lens of a self-portrait artist.
Will South maintains an unshakeable belief that art history as a mode of investigation is the best tool in his studio when he goes to paint or draw, which is every day. Many of his current images reveal a subtle, or a not-so-subtle link to images of the past. Others derive from his ongoing study of life drawing, which he began at age seventeen. With any project he undertakes, Will is fascinated with how complexity can emerge from simplicity, with how even the simplest lines may evoke the experiences of the larger world in which we all live.
Rob Shaw Gallery and Framing is a full service Picture Frame Shop and Art Gallery. Located at 324 State Street, West Columbia. Rob Shaw is a painter and enjoys introducing people to different styles of art. The function of the Gallery’s monthly Art Shows is to share with clients the many different types of artists we have living in South Carolina.”
The show will be on display at this location through the entire month of September.

In 2018, my portrait creation “Girl with Sword” won Best of Show in the professional category of the SC State Fair, notably being the first and only photograph to ever take that prize in the 150 years of the fair. A recent series I created is my 'Homespun' series, showing children and young adults in rustic and wholesome tableaux. Captured in mundane tasks, the subjects are graced with strength and dignity. In 2020, my series In the Time of COVID was selected for display at The Koger Center for the Arts, the winner of their “1593 Project” call for art. This exhibition ran April 5-August 13, 2021. Kimberly is lead photographer with Studio 3P, LLC in Irmo, SC.
Kimberly's art pieces are in private collections across the midlands.
