Al Leitch

I was selected to participate in art programs for high school students at the Carnegie Museum of Art and Carnegie Mellon University. With my engineering and business degrees, I pursued an academic career in accounting at several major universities, with the last 23 years at the University of South Carolina. During my career I taught thousands of students, published over 60 articles in leading journals, coauthored three books, held endowed professorships, and served as a department chair and as an associate dean.

Inspired by the Hudson River School, I decided to renew my love of art upon retirement from USC. I participated in numerous Columbia and Southeastern Pastel Society workshops. I have been active in the Columbia art community serving as workshop coordinator, Vice President, and President of the Crooked Creek Art League. I am currently a member of the Village Artists Gallery at the Village at Sandhill. Also, many of my paintings and prints are on display art at Palmetto Fine Arts and Custom Framer in Chapin and at Custom Framer in Lexington. For a more complete display and print prices visit my website alleitchart.com

In addition to exhibiting my work in Columbia and Charleston, where I have won numerous awards: I was juried into the Southeastern Pastel Society's 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th International Exhibitions in Atlanta; the Southeastern Pastel Society's Visual Arts Center Exhibition in Roswell, GA; the Appalachian Pastel Society's 2018 Show; and Artfields 2017. I participated in a show at the Center for the Arts at USC Beaufort, in my college reunion's Art Exhibit at Cornell University, in the Art Market at the Historic Honey Horn in Hilton Head, and the Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival, in Bluffton, SC.
