Artist Bio:

Siara Pineda

artist Siara Pineda

Siara was introduced to art at a very early age through her mother who painted murals throughout her childhood home. She was also inspired by the cartoons that she grew up with, trying to replicate the same linework as well as creating new characters to fit into that animated universe. Starting with basic pencil and paper, she slowly began to incorporate different mediums into her work like inks, markers, colored pencils, and acrylics. Then during the pandemic, when everyone was told to stay home, she began to attend an online art school, majoring in animation. However, it was during her brief two years in art school that she fell in love with portraiture work and dropped out.

After quitting her job as a nanny to pursue art full time, she then began experimenting with oils. With the help of some good friends and a wonderful art league, she began to understand the complexities of oil and found a new passion in oil portraiture work. Although this is her preferred medium, she still enjoys painting with acrylics and experimenting with as many other mediums as she can afford.

Portraiture work is one that Siara gravitates towards most. The complexities of emotions that come across through every day faces are an inspiration and a challenge that she enjoys enduring. However, she hopes to expand her horizons and paint any number of different subjects with the main goal of conveying emotions and stories through brushwork and colors in her final work.

Born and raised in South Carolina, living in the upper Midlands, she finds herself very fortunate to be surrounded by so much beauty and wonderful, interesting people! With the help and constant support of her loved ones, including close friends, new family, and her two wonderful dogs, she hopes to continue to grow, inspire, and soak in all the exciting moments of being a full-time artist.
