Watercolor Painting: "The Eyes Have It" by Beth Cavanaugh

Congratulations to our Spotlight Artist of the Month at the Chapin Chamber of Commerce for January 2017: Beth Cavanaugh!

Beth is a native of South Carolina. Her passion for art began as a child. At 12 she was one of several South Carolina students who participated in the Tom Sawyer Project for the site of the JFK Center for the Performing Arts. She attended the Columbia Museum of Art School, studying under Catherine Rembert. Ms. Rembert taught successful artists at USC including Jasper Johns and J. Bardin. She was represented by Wickwire Gallery in Henderson, NC for 10 years, until they closed in 2014. She was featured artist at the Chapin Chamber of Commerce. Her art was selected by the Saluda Shoals Foundation for their holiday cards in 2008 and 2009. In 2010, she got her own working studio, Beth's Songbird Studio. She has juried a number of shows in South Carolina. Some of her work in included in private collections in Arkansas, California, Florida, Kansas and both Carolinas. Beth has memberships in the National Watermedia Society, Crooked Creek Art League and the National Audubon Society.
