I graduated from high school in 1965 and enrolled in The School of Art & Design in Philadelphia which was a 4 year program taught by professional artists. In 1969, I joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. I was given the opportunity to work on art during this time and worked primarily in oil pastel and graphite. After discharge in 1972, I opened Pine Hollow Art Studio and began a career in art & illustration. My first commission was to create 28 drawings of the covered bridges in Columbia County, PA, which were printed into a set of prints for the 1976 Bicentennial. Over the years, I've worked in many different creative venues including natural science illustration, children's books, textbooks, displays, magazines, etc. I was represented by Creative Freelancers in NY and eventually worked for a major publisher as art department supervisor where I retired in 2013. Favorite subjects are wildlife and nature.

8 x 16 inches Acrylic Painting This is a painting that was done for chapter opener in a science textbook.

24 x 36 inches Acrylic This painting was the result of my stay as Artist-in-Residency at Dreher Island State Park.

16x20 Acrylic I love the Carolina Wren. It's a bird with a lot of character.

11x14 Graphite This was a black and white study done in graphite of a Canada Goose.

24x36 Acrylic I love spending time at our State Parks. This is an acrylic painting looking towards the mountain from Route 11.

18x24 Graphite This is a graphite drawing of a shrimp boat looking from the patio of the Wreck of the Richard & Charlene, a pretty good eating place on Sullivan's Island.

18x24 Pastel Painting I enjoy spending time at the Zoo and taking reference photos of the animals. This fellow was a longtime resident of the Greenville Zoo.

16x20 Pastel Painting This is a pastel portrait of friend and fellow veteran, Bill, who passed away after a battle with cancer.
