November 2019 Presenter: Sara Schneckloth

Sara will show drawings from current projects underway, including work from the San Juan Basin badlands of New Mexico. “Since 2014, I have made artwork centering on the natural landforms and vernacular architecture of the American Southwest. We kicked off our workshop season with a fun and colorful workshop with Laura Pollak. What a great master of achieving color and light using pastels! Ceremony Dedicating "Serenity" to CCP

On a very windy Wednesday evening, as part of The Arts Sail into Chapin Project, the Crooked Creek Art League dedicated the sailboat "Serenity" at Crooked Creek Park. Barbara Teusink welcomed guests and introduced the sculptor Steven Reed, the painter Roger Buenzow, and the donors Lake and Ashley Boulton of Lake Murray Boat and RV Storage. Crooked Creek Art League members did quite well at the State Fair again this year with many artists participating and quite a few winners! "Back into the Woods II" Mixed Media Painting, 25"w x 33"h $400 About the Artwork: This is a mixed media piece that incorporates a 2 block/2 color, wood cut block print, water color, and collage. After I started doing small, 1 of a kind, collage cards, I thought it would be fun to enlarge the process and decided to use new prints from wood blocks I had carved back in my college days. The Coffee Shelf Gallery Opens!

CCAL, in conjunction with The Coffee Shelf, is proud to announce the grand opening of "The Coffee Shelf Gallery". The gallery is located in the lobby of The Coffee Shelf at 130 Amicks Ferry Road in Chapin. It will host the artwork of two of Crooked Creek Art League's fine artists on a two month rotation. The store owner, Jerry has been a longtime supporter of the arts in Chapin and we are thrilled to be working with him to showcase more art in town. For more on the gallery, click HERE. CCAL in the 2019 Union County Arts Council Juried Art Show
