CCAL Launches All New Community Art Project CCAL is excited to announce the kickoff of a very special project. We invite all artists to take part! The Crooked Creek Art League wants to shine a light on the vibrant arts community in Chapin and surrounding areas. Toward that end, CCAL is partnering with the Town of Chapin to promote the arts and the town. We have been an active part of the community since we were established in 1995 and hope to have the chance to give back to the town. Spotlight Artist February 2019: Sonya Diimmler

Congratulations to our Spotlight Artist of the Month for February: Sonya Diimmler! "Brown Eyed Beggars" Artist Bio: Award winning artist Sonya Diimmler paints colorful South Carolina lake and landscapes along with her favorite subject and muse her bulldog Smedley. Having just started painting in 2015, Sonya fell in love with the process and quickly began a daily painting practice. She continually seeks to improve through frequent workshops and has studied with Mary Bentz Gilkerson and Michael Story. A full house enjoyed a great workshop with watercolor master, Russell Jewell. Lots of great information was shared on planning, preparing, painting and doing effective self-critique through all the stages along the way. Everyone was concentrating hard on absorbing and applying all that we learned in a fun and supportive environment. The following photos are from the workshop held February 1-2, 2019.
