The Artists Place Gallery - Blue Ribbon Winner!

It is a delight to announce that the first ever Blue Ribbon Winner in The Artist's Place Gallery competition is one of our newer members, Diane McCavitt. Our theme this month was "Land and Sea". We had quite a few lovely entries. Diane's colorful sunset rendition of Cape Flattery really captured the eye and admiration of the Crooked Creek Park Staff. BB&T Bank on Art Gallery - May 2018

CCAL, in conjunction with the BB&T, is proud to announce this month's artist on display in the "BB&T Bank on Art Gallery". The gallery is located in the lobby of the Chapin BB&T Branch and hosts the artwork of one of Crooked Creek Art League's fine artists. This month, the display in the gallery showcases artwork by Adriana Vidal. Adriana's piece "Lake Murray: A View from the Dam" is a mixed media painting. "Lake Murray: A View from the DAM" Artist Statement This painting “Lake Murray: A View from the Dam” is a mixed media piece using watercolor pencils and ink. Artistic Prosperity Artist May 2018: Sonya Diimmler

Crooked Creek Art League congratulates Sonya Diimmler for her multi piece exhibit at the Prosperity Town Hall. Her artwork will be on display now through the end of May. (click on any image to view larger) Artist's Bio: Sonya has been painting since 2015. In that time, she has studied with Michael Story, Mary Bentz Gilkerson, her mother Ann Sweeney and attended numerous workshops. Her work is largely focused on animal portraits and landscapes. Spotlight Artist May 2018: Alexandra DiFrancesco

"Sailor Sky" About This Piece: The photograph "Sailor Sky" was taken in Beaufort, SC at the Downtown Marina at sunset Artist Bio A native of Bluefield, West Virginia, Alexandra (Alex) has had an opportunity to live both on the East Coast and West Coast before moving to the Columbia, South Carolina area in 2016. She has enjoyed photography since playing with her parents Kodak Brownie camera as a child! Alexandra enjoys a variety of subjects which includes her grandchildren. She favors photographing anything to do with nature and architectural features. Alexandra is a member of Crooked Creek Art League and currently serves on their board as grant writer.
