Al Leitch has it made in Georgia

Two of Al's paintings, "Bay Street Lady" and "Cruising Pelicans" have been accepted into the Southeastern Pastel Society Roswell Visual Arts Center Exhibition. The Exhibition will run from 8/19/16 - 9/26/16. The opening reception will be August 19th from 7-9pm at the Visual Arts Center, 10495 Woodstock Road, Roswell GA. May 2017 Presentation: Exhibition of "Let's Paint Chapin, Prosperity and Little Mountain&qu

All paintings entered in this year's special project "Let's Paint Chapin, Prosperity and Little Mountain" will be presented and the the winners announced. Each participating artist will present their painting and give a very brief history of the painting and why they chose their subject matter. A juror will select three of the paintings for award. February 2017 Presenter: Donnie Hughes

The presenter for our February 20, 2017 monthly meeting will be Donnie Hughes. StartFragment Artist Donnie Hughes was born in Anderson, SC in 1947 and now lives in Lexington, SC with his wife Nancy and their 2 little dogs, Rascal and Spanky. He worked as the Art Director for a printing company for 35 years before painting full time 6 years ago. Hughes graduated from Anderson College and the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in Art. He and his identical twin brother Ronnie have always known that art was their destiny in life. The presenter for our January 16, 2017 monthly meeting will be Tammy Papa. With a painterly and impressionistic style, Tammy Papa captures the evocativeness of beautiful Lowcountry scenes, from the marshes and beaches near her Isle of Palms home, to architecture, still life and figure. Attuned to the play of light, she uses a warm and sophisticated palette to imbue her oils and pastels with signature radiance. A long-time South Carolina resident who studied music before majoring in studio art at the University of South Carolina, Tammy has always been drawn to creative endeavors. November 2017 Presenter: Amy Perrier

Our presenter for the November 21, 2016 monthly meeting will be: Amy Perrier. Our November 21 speaker is Amy Perrier from Hendersonville NC. She creates contemporary paintings in acrylic paint by using her fingers as brushes with occasional use of graphite or a palette knife if she desires a hard edge or wishes to reveal previously applied layers of paint.
