Shin Wilbanks
I am a native of South Korea, arriving in the United States thirty-three years ago. I have had a lifelong interest in art, but did not pursue it in earnest until an injury led to my retirement. I had the fortune to take a workshop at Crooked Creek Park from Craig Carlson. Since then I have had a renewed commitment to refine my artistic skills and develop and explore new techniques and mediums. Regularly entering exhibits such as the State Fair and Crooked Creek Art League’s annual exhibit has brought attention to my artwork, and recently winning awards has encouraged me to continue. I am grateful that I have the ability to express what I see around me, and what I feel within me. It is empowering to be able to effectively communicate to others the beauty that I see.
