Ann is a native of Greenville, SC. She began painting during college but did not become active in the art until 1990. She married, started a family and later began a career with Michelin North America. She retired after 32 years with Michelin in 2005 and became totally committed to pursuing her interest in the art of painting. Her initial interest was watercolor and studied under Julia Peters at Julia Peters Studio in Greenville, SC for 9 years. She has traveled with a group of 12 artists painting in the Cotswolds in England, the Chinque Terra region of Italy and around an about in the states of South Carolina, North Carolina and Maine. In 2000 she relocated to Columbia on Lake Murray and began an adventure with oil, which she has chosen as her current medium. She is regular student of Ingrid Carson and has studied Still Life painting under Mary Kathryn Massey, OPA, AA, Portrait Painting under James Sulkowski of Sulkowski Fine Arts and her newest interest, Mixed Media under Patti Brady in Greenville, SC. Ann favors bright colors as they express her energy and enthusiasm for life. Ann has exhibited in the South Carolina State Fair and participated in Art in The Park in Greenville, SC. Ann is a member of Upstate Visual Arts and a new member of the Crooked Creek Art League. |
